Welcome to the Spooktacular Giveaway Hop, hosted by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer, and The Diary of a Bookworm.
The idea of the “hop” is that a whole bunch of blogs plan different giveaways, then link up to make it easier for visitors to find and enter them. This hop runs from Wednesday, October 24, 2012 to Wednesday, October 31, 2012. The winner will be announced on Thursday, November 1, 2012.
For this hop, I’m giving away a copy of Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion.
Blurb (from Goodreads):
R is a young man with an existential crisis–he is a zombie. He shuffles through an America destroyed by war, social collapse, and the mindless hunger of his undead comrades, but he craves something more than blood and brains. He can speak just a few grunted syllables, but his inner life is deep, full of wonder and longing. He has no memories, noidentity, and no pulse, but he has dreams.
After experiencing a teenage boy’s memories while consuming his brain, R makes an unexpected choice that begins a tense, awkward, and stragely sweet relationship with the victim’s human girlfriend. Julie is a blast of color in the otherwise dreary and gray landscape that surrounds R. His decision to protect her will transform not only R, but his fellow Dead, and perhaps their whole lifeless world.
Scary, funny, and surprisingly poignant, Warm Bodies is about being alive, being dead, and the blurry line in between.
Contest open internationally
Did you hear about Marion’s freak out about how offended he is that some people label his book YA? I still want to read it, but that was a bad move on his part.
I remember hearing something about this, but don’t know exactly what happened. Authors freak out so much these days I start to lose track.
