It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #1

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Book Journey meant to highlight books you read in the past week, and what you’re planning on reading this week.

Last week I only *finished* one book, but continued reading a bunch of others.

Finished:
Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton

Continuing to read:

Red Glove by Holly Black
The Lost Saint by Bree Despain
Blood Red Road by Moira Young
The End of Time: The Maya Mystery of 2012 by Anthony Aveni
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness (listening to audiobook)

I plan on finishing at least The Lost Saint because I have to return it to the library. I’ll also need to start and finish The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa this week, since it’s coming due as well. Library due dates are the best reading motivators for me!

I didn’t read as much as I meant to last week because I was extra tired and kept falling asleep on my commuter train instead of reading. Hopefully I’ll be better rested this week and able to tackle some books!

Yes, library fines are a great incentive! Have a great reading week.

  2. Nothing better than reading but sleeping. LOL!

  3. OOH I thought about getting the Discovery Of Witches on audio… how is it?

I was able to get the (20 cds!) audiobook from the library. Honestly, I kind of wish I were reading it instead. The narrator’s voice is a little *too* smooth for my taste, but she does do great accents. I just feel like I’d have read the characters differently if given the chance.

It looks like you have some fabulous books lined up. I have been very interested in Red Glove, how was it? Enjoy your books and have a wonderful week. My Monday: http://www.rundpinne.com/2011/03/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-32.html

I’m loving Red Glove so far. I’m not used to reading ebooks, but this book makes me constantly want to keep reading. Holly Black is absolutely fantastic, and the the Curse Workers world is really original and compelling. So yeah, I love it so far (I’m about 1/3 of the way through).

I know exactly what you mean about library due dates. I just finished the first of 6 library books that are due by at least April 5th (I think I can renew one time, maybe two, but’s that’s it). I actually bought The Iron Daughter and The Iron Queen, but am making myself read my library books first.

    Have a great week!

I’m on Spring Break. Will I find the balance between reading for fun and reading for my project? Come see .

Oh I so need to get Angelfire, I have been panting over this book for so long. Good luck with finishing all your book this week. Enjoy!
