It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #78

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey meant to highlight books you read in the past week, and what you’re planning on reading this week.

I’m down to eight books left to read to reach my goal of 150 for the year! The week before Christmas is out for reading, since my dad and kid sister will be visiting me, so I really have about 2 weeks to get the reading done. Bring it on! :-)

Finished:
Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
The Devil in Silver by Victor LaValle
The Lives We Lost by Megan Crewe

Continuing to read:
Live by Night by Dennis Lehane
The Passage by Justin Cronin (audiobook) — I have about 18 more hours to go on this one! I feel like the story could use some editing, since it tends to ramble.

Hoping to finish:
Blasphemy by Sherman Alexie
The Archived by Victoria Schwab
Paper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff

Best wishes on reaching your reading goal for this year!

  2. I saw Paper Valentine on NetGalley and I thought it looked interesting. I will have to check back for your review to see what you thought of it! All of the books you finished sound like stories I would read, I will have to check them out, especially Eleanor and Park. :) Have a great week! And awesome about your goal! Congrats!

Oh I have The Passage on Mt TBR. I have only heard good things about it and the next book The Twelve.

You have an impressive reading list. I am impressed.

  4. Earl says:

The ramblings in The Passage was one of the reasons I couldn’t get into it. I would recommend The Strain trilogy by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan.

  5. I have Eleanor and Park to read soon as well
Wishing you a wonderful reading week

  6. Best of luck with reaching your reading goal. We also have the same problem as we haven’t really nailed down all of our reading challenges as yet, we shall see how that goes. Most of the books you shared here are unfamiliar to me, but they all sound intriguing. Have fun with your reading week!

  7. Yes, The Passage! It did not need to be so freaking long. They could have tightened that up and made it so much better and quicker.
